The boys not only had their first birthday together,

but they got to celebrate with Cade's best friend, Austin Simon!

There were lots of friends and family and TONS of fun!!

Thanks to everyone who made it fun for Cade, Jay and Austin!

Our boys had a BIRTHDAY!

Cade 3

-counts to 15 (then it gets sketchy :)

-knows ABC's

-knows all colors

-very social, loves playing with his friends

-LOVES disney's "cars" movie

-LOVES reading books

-sings in the car

-a big helper with his little brother...pays attention to his needs

-still a MAJOR Daddy's boy

-loves singing primary songs. Knows a lot by heart.

-a little shy

-can be a bully ;)

-tells us he loves us out of the blue

-has such a sweet spirit. Has been the best baby we have ever known. People tell us all the time!

Almost every year (I think except 1) my group of high school girlfriends has gotten together during the holidays. It is always a fun time to catch up, eat good food, and do a white elephant gift exchange. And the last couple of years, it has been the talk on who is either getting married or having a baby that year! It's so fun, and I sure do love you girls!!

Why exactly does the Gatten gang know how to party?

First of all, we do it in one the most beautiful places on earth.

We do crazy things from a young age...and it's encouraged.

(hence the two year old sledding by himself,

getting in on a snow ball fight (and yes, Papa was hucking snow at people with the shovel),

and having his face painted with Gunner's 4th and Nana's 60th birthday cake frosting.)

we keep doing crazy things well into adulthood.

this is all aside from the cribbage, basketball, chess, racquetball and anything-else-you-can-imagine tournaments, swimming, outdoor hot tubbing, skiing at schweitzer, good food, movie nights and all sorts of fun...oh, and with 40 people.

Yeah, we know how to party. :)
