HORRIBLE!!!

So, the hairdresser I have been going to since I was about 15 is amazing with color. As for cuts, especially short to medium ones, I'm not gonna lie, she needs to just leave them off her tabs. Each time she hasn't done the best, I go home, fix it up with my own scissors a bit, and still can work with it. Not so much now.

I have been trying to grow my hair out for months and months now and the last time I let her "trim" my hair...she chopped it!!! So, this time I felt bad getting a color with no cut when it was OBVIOUS I needed a trim, so I thought... what the heck, she can't screw things up too terribly bad again. I'll just tell her to take off a tiny bit. So, she starts clipping and she seems to be doing very well, when toward the end I tell her to even out the front (I still had a bit of an A-line from when my hair was shorter). Well, she CHOPS my front and tapers it all up. I about died when she made that first cut to the front. So, now I have hair in the shape of a big U from the back and it looks like it should be gray and I should have a little grandma cap on. I, for the first time, HATE MY HAIR! So, here's the question....do I cut off the back of the hair and even it out more into a bob (pretty much starting back at square 1), or do I wear my hair up for the next 5 months till its longer and I can go back to the girl I love at great clips for a fix? I'm thinking I might go back short with you, Heather. Above is a pic. of a the haircut I might do if I go back short (minus the color and I'd have longer bangs that could go behind my ear ;). Give me your input.

We are the Champions...

Sing the song, whatever you want, because we ARE the champions! Jon and the Post Falls 1st ward team won the Coeurd' Alene Stake championship game by ONE point to the single's ward! They only had 5 guys, too! Jonny was the lead scorer. We forgot the camera (oops) so Brynne felt especially empty handed without that or Cade (Mikin took him so she could actually watch the game...thanks!)... so no action shots. Oh well, the important part is, we are so proud of Jonny and the boys!

Babies Galore!!

So, we have two new nephews and one about to get here!! Asa Ty Morton (born to Mikin and Tyler, their fourth) is now a few weeks old (3/6/08) and we had a chance to have him in our home yesterday. Cade has a HUGE soft spot for babies. He is very gentle and cute with them. We catch him giving them kisses and hugs to them and he gets very concerned when they cry. We tried to catch him kissing Asa.
This picture is cute because Jon is puckering up!
In this one, Asa is puckering up! He's adorable.

And in this one Cade is puckering up! Ella (Asa's older sister) looks pretty into it, too!

Well, late that night we got a call right as Brynne got home from basketball open gym that her brother Tim and wife Lizzy had their little boy! (4/17/08). It was their fourth also and his name is Brady Steven Gatten. He is so cute and looks just like his older brother Jackson!

Proud uncle!
Brynne told Jon this made her want one. ;)

Brady made the boys pull ahead with 10 total on the Gatten side before Brynne's sister Cassie and husband Andrew have their 3rd boy in a couple weeks! Steve and Jean now have 19 grandkids. Soon to be 20! wow!

It is always a miracle to see the circle of life each time. These little babies are such a blessing.

Where are the PANTS?

Our litte boy is a born streaker! He absolutely loves being NAKED! I think it is something in the Gatten gene pool (perhaps from Uncle Tim or Spike?) but as soon as he knows his last article of clothing is off (his diaper) he hurries and takes off before we can catch him! I had to take some video of it...you can't resist that cute gut! He also shows off one of the new words he learned recently. "Dog". He also has learned kitty ("ki"), and ball ("ba"). He loves to point out his teeth, ears, and eyes as well. It is so fun watching him learn each day and grow into a little boy... but sometimes I sure miss my cuddly baby. ;)

Can't Touch This...

We are proud to say that Jon's church ball team (also Tim's team) is undefeated going into the tournament! They beat teams on average by about 15 or 20. They have a lot of chemistry and if I might say, Jonny is the star player! (Don't tell him I said that...it might go to his head! jk. ;)
Go Post Falls 1st ward!!

What a Legacy

Today the emotions of our loved, late prophet's passing really sunk in for us. Watching the solemn assembly this morning in our general conference made us reflect on all of the wonderful accomplishments, teachings, example and spirit President Gordon B. Hinckley had about him.

He was such a friendly and down to earth leader. He loved each person as they were. He stressed to us to "be" as we need to be because he truely cared about us as his brothers and sisters.
He was one of the most Christ-like examples we will ever have the chance of knowing. Even though we never had the privelege of meeting him personally, we have a great love for him.
We are so grateful for his service through the years and for the great things he did in our behalf. We are so happy for him being reunited with his sweet, eternal companion who he always talked so highly of. It makes us want to love eachother more every day, and try to be even a fragment of what he was.
We will miss you.
This day was also a day of excitement as we sustained and supported the Lord's new Prophet and President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints... Thomas S. Monson. We are anxious to see what the future will bring with such an amazing man and great story teller!

We know President Monson is called by God and we are grateful for a modern day prophet to lead and guide us in these days.

We pray that we may live up to the teachings and examples of these wonderful men, as we know the Lord would have us do.

Cade's dirty little secret

While we were in Vegas, Cade secretly got inked! Although it took us a second to notice since we were so used to seeing these types of things in Vegas, we went to get him dressed the morning after we got home and found this on his arm!! Who is the culprit?! Good thing we think it's cute. ;)

Oh yeah, and don't mind his mouth full of food.

What happens in Vegas...

For our third anniversary Jon and Brynne took a weekend trip to Sin City!! Brynne's brother Dusty and wife Angie tagged along for his spring break! It was a blast!! Every minute was filled with fun! A few of the highlights were March madness games on the big screens at the Bellagio Sports book (which consisted of leather recliners, an individual desk and T.V. for each of us, and free drinks!), the freaky ride on top of the stratosphere (where we stayed), pool basketball, good food, a few bucks in winnings, the best steak we've ever had, and free shows! Of course there was the walking 2 miles to McDonalds past hookers and homeless people to learn there was one in our hotel, getting kicked to the curb at 3 clubs (we weren't on "the list"), waiting a half hour for the TI show that got canceled, the topless girl at the "family friendly" pool, watching a guy gambling $600,000 in chips, speed shopping, Hooters wings, and staying up 'til 5 talking and playing 21. All in all, a very eventful few days. We still aren't caught up on our sleep!! The best time of all, though, was the time Jon and I had at our anniversary dinner to reflect on the last 3 (or 4) years and how much we have grown together. We are so in love and can't wait to see what the next year will bring us!

p.s. Coming home to snow on the ground in April wasn't a good trip cap. ;)
