4 Years Into Forever

We celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary on Friday March 27th, one day after the actual day. We trade off every other year planning it. This year it was Brynne's turn and she came thru as always. Normally we'd go to dinner and do something after but this was different. She said we were just gonna go for a walk along lake coeur d' alene near higgins point. That in itself woulda been perfect, just us away from the kids doing something like that. But she threw in a curve ball. Told me to checks out the bino's so we did. Then just below that she had stashed a blanket, some fake champaign, a gift and cards, and a book. We had a spread right there and read a book called eternal marriage about a couple that had a set of silverware they kept special. "If you want something to last you have to treat it differently" is the gist of the book. My mom gave it to us on our wedding day and reading it again was great. Brynne also made a candy-gram for me on a big poster expressing her feelings with various candy bars. Let's just say there was a big hunk on there and a KING sized watchamacallit!! Also there was a statue of a man taking a picture from an old time camera, the kind where you put your head under the blanket befor you snap it. Anyway, on the back of the poster she wrote to me how she always "pictured" the man she'd marry to have x y z traits, features, characteristics etc. and how I filled em. It was such a simple date but Brynne had put a lot of thought and effort into it and it was one of the best dates we've ever had. I loved it. It made me appreciate (again) how fortunate I am to have such a loving wife who is incredible.

WARNING: PICTURE OVERLOAD

CADE 2 JAY 2 MOS
Jean (my mom) recently got a really nice, new camera and we did our first photo shoot together of the boys (and a couple of Zoey). We are both rookies, but I think they turned out pretty good! Here are some of our favorites! Enjoy!

Cadeisms

Cade is at SUCH a fun (but challenging!) age right now. Just wanted to share a few cute things.
Just a random pic at Nana's...diaper on his head playing with dolls and a pink backpack?? I don't know.
Cade LOVES Jay so much. He loves to help with him, squeeze him (sometimes he bites when he gets too excited...).
We have found him:
-Sharing his toys with Jay. When he is in his swing (when Mommy is trying to get something done) where Cade can get him, is usually when these things happen. Cade will place toys around Jay to "play with". What a good share-er. :)
-Sharing his food with Jay. We have found Jay quietly tongueing a piece of cereal.
-Teaching Jay things. He will tell him "Jay, soccer ball....kick it! See?" and show him. So cute.
-Brushing Jay's "teeth" (gums). Cade was working away on him, toothpaste and everything. Jay was actually enjoying the minty-freshness and taking it with the 'new taste' look on his face.
-Sharing his latest prized posession: his sunglasses. I came into the living room and Cade had perfectly placed his sunglasses on Jay for the "sunshine". I had to capture a picture!
I managed to get a couple candid shots. Cade is very good about giving Jay his sucky...
and lots and lots of very squished kisses and hugs.
but Jay takes it all like a champ. He lights up when Cade is around and smiles at him when he talks to him. It is so fun to watch them love eachother. (most of the time!)

Lastly, every night when we say prayers with Cade in his room, in his bed he HAS to have Jay under the covers, snuggled right up next to him and "hoe em" (hold him) while he says prayers, repeating the last word of every sentence.

We sure love our goofy, sweet, sensitive, caring and CRAZY little guy!

Brynne's 24th Birthday!

We had an awesome time for Brynne's birthday. We spent the evening celebrating as a family in dowtown Spokane. First, we went and fed the ducks and geese at River Park Square.

Brynne wouldn't get any closer to these freaky geese that were hissing at us!
Cade didn't know what to think of all the birds sworming to us...
All these geese were following Jon as he left still hissing at him!
Then we ate and opened presents and cards at one of Brynne's favorite places:a THEN went to the mall to this art place called "Color Me Mine" to paint some ceramics. The guy saw Jay (2 mos old) and offered us a FREE imprinting of both Cade and Jay's hand and foot if he could do one of Brynne's hands and Jay's hands for selling the idea to people. Now we'll have a keepsake and it was fun!!

We will have the finished porducts in a few weeks!

We then got movie treats, went home and sang happy birthday, watched a movie and fell asleep together. It was such a great day. Happy 24th Birthday, Mommy! Thanks for all the love and calls from family and friends, too!

Some highlights from the year:

-had baby no. 2

-recorded part of album no. 2

-harvested a 4 pt. deer

-did cda triathlon 4 mos pregnant

It's March in Vegas!!

(LtoR: Jeff Perry, Kevin Smith, 2 dudes and me)
MWC tourny in Vegas. UTAH UTES took it all. During one of the games we learned that UCONN and Syracuse were in double OT so we went out to watch it on the TV. It went into 6 OT's. Last time a game went that far into overtime was in 1981 and Syracuse was part of it then. Come to find out there was a random dude watching it with us that was at that game in '81 as an udergrad student so we gots a pic with him. Overall great trip to Vegas for the B-3 (Jeff Perry, Kevin Smith, and deez) reunion tour. Took in a lot of basketball games live and on the big screens.....good times.

Green Eggs and Hash

St. Patricks Day

We woke up telling Cade it was "green day" and he was a little confused. So, we put him in green and made shamrocks to put on baby Jay (since he didn't have green to wear). But, when we went to McD's Cade was SO excited to see that all the other kids playing there were wearing green, too!
Later that night, after Dad got home, we made a dinner of green orange juice, green eggs, corned beef and hash, and toast. Looks YUMMY, huh?!

Then, Cade and Mommy made shamrock sugar cookies to give away.

Here is what Jay and Daddy did in the meantime...

Cade was serious about his job. :)

Happy St. Paddy's Day!
