Little Man??

It was a beautiful Saturday this weekend and Daddy was on a bike-ride, so I decided to take the boys down to Corbin Park beach. We finished swimming and decided to go on a "hike" up on some rocks that overlook the river. We were strolling down the dirt road to get there, when a quite curvy girl walked up behind us and started "flirting" with Cade. She, of course, was in a bikini. Shiny, purple and barely there. After she finished oooing and ahhhing over my boys, she walked up ahead of us (strutting it all...) when Cade proceeded to tell me this:

Oooooo, Mom. Look at her butt. That's delicious!

WHAT??!!

I couldn't help but laugh. Bad mom?

Memorial Day Weekend

What do we do to entertain ourselves when we can't go rafting on the
St. Joe?
(because there is a fallen tree across the river)

three way push ups....?

climb trees
work out...?
feed homeless kids...
keep warm around the fire...
Eat yummy food every 1.2 hours....

throw rocks in the river...

slide down mud slides...

go 4 wheeling and shooting...

Have modeling contests...
jump off bridges into ice water...
And FINALLY, once we've done all that, my old man cuts out the log, and we raft over it!! (below was the sign that the technical part was coming up)
below: Brynne, Spike, Steve, Jon
below: Dan Ross, Steve, Spike, Nick Fowler, Jim Lee, Brynne, Jon, travis, Casey Fowler
here we are rafting over the log...
...and into the whitewater...BRRR!!

We love the good times!!

And even greater memories.

I love 3 yr old brains

So many times lately I LOL (literally) at the things Cade says. I don't document it enough! He is so imaginitive and bright minded, and I love watching his little mind catch onto concepts.
Last night we were at Jon's parents' new house and they have a picture of George Washington on the way up the stairs (along with the Constitution and and American pride display). Anyway, he was scared to go up the stairs because of the "scary man" on the wall. I proceeded to tell him that it wasn't a scary man, it was just George Washington, the first President of the United States, which is the country we live in, etc. yadda yadda.

So here was our conversation (out of the blue) in the car today:

Cade: Mom, where's George Washington?
Me: Um...he's dead, buddy. He died a LOOng time ago.
Cade: Why did he die mom?
Me: because everybody dies, buddy. We all grow up, then we start getting really, really old and then we die. After that, we go to heaven to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus and our family forever. Cool, huh? So when we die, we might see George Washington, too. He's in heaven.
Cade: Oh.....................like UP!!! (the disney movie)
Me: That RIGHT! Smart boy!
Cade: So George Washington wont be old anymore?
Me: That's right.
Cade: Cool, mom.

Then, later tonight, Cade was saying goodnight to Jon on the phone (who was traveling). The conversation went like this:

Cade: where are you, Dad?
Jon: I'm on my trip in Washington.
Cade: Oh, Washington? George Washington?

Gotta love it.
