Only in Alaska

Where it's -20, or a foot or more of snow on the ground and it's still a nice enough day to bike to work.

Stake Adult Valentines Dance

We had a blast with a group from our ward continuing the tradition (started by the Chamberlains) of going RETRO to our Vday dance. This yr everyone kind of dressed like their grandparents. ;)
Here are all of the couples at Azteca before the dance:
Us
Amy and Kirk holding.
Don't worry, that's not his real hair...and you can't see his sweater tucked in with his skinny belt. ;)
Jonathan and Nicole Morton
Sara and Tim Jr. Bastedo (love the shoulder pads...and you can't see his snake skin shoes!)
Shawn and Glen Chamberlain
Tim and Kirk with their Azteca spread. Go all out boys!
Some of our group shakin' it to the live band! We definitly made ourselves known...

Ahhhhhh.....Yessss......

Life is good.
Somehow, all of the sudden Cade went from seeing the potty like this:

to like this:

and I don't have to change 3 year old diapers anymore! I love it! He's been perfect for 4 days.
We got Jay to stop craving this (halleluja):
My sister, Cassie, after 3 boys, is having a....

There is hope for us! (even though we love our boys dearly.)

And lastly, I have really been needing this:

So, we're GOING!!!
That's right. Just booked our 5 year anniversary trip to Oahu, Hawaii in April!!

Mommy/Cader Date

Jon's travels had him getting home very late on a Friday night, so I took advantage of my "free" date night. Cade and I got dressed up, got a babsitter for Jay-Jay and went to dinner at Winger's and to see "The Tooth Fairy". It was his first movie (since he was a new born) in a theatre! He loved it, but by the end, he whispered, "Mom, I miss Jay-Jay." SO cute. Thanks for the fun date with such a handsome guy, Cade!
(p.s. I don't know what's up with his cheesy grin. :)

HE DID IT!!

Cade went poop on the toilet.
I have tried not to push him until he was ready, and today I could tell he was ready to go, so I asked if he wanted to try on the toilet. He said YES! So, he wanted to be left alone, a minute later he said he had gone, and he really had! So, now we are hunkered down for a few days to get the hang of the undies.
GO CADE!!
We are so proud of you. You are growing up and becoming such a big helper, a sweet brother and a great friend to your Daddy and I.

Uh oh. Vanilla Bean.

Meet Bean.
She is a 7 1/2 week old chihuahua.

She knew how to weasle her way into our home.

By being cute, and by having Cade fall in love with her.

This was going to be somewhat of a temporary thing...We thought sure, we'll get her for now, get her her first shots, start litter-box training her, let Cade have his fun and then re-sell her in a week or two. We are more of the big dog type (hence, Zoey).

Well, it is just TOO cute seeing this boy with "his" dog, carrying her around, playing with her, and helping give her baths. So, she is starting to pull our little heart strings.
The cutest thing is watching her try to snuggle up to Zoey, only to get growled at, but she keeps trying!

So, we'll let you know what happens. For now, she's a ton of fun. But just in case, anyone want an adorable new vanilla BEAN? ;)
