I love 3 yr old brains

So many times lately I LOL (literally) at the things Cade says. I don't document it enough! He is so imaginitive and bright minded, and I love watching his little mind catch onto concepts.

Last night we were at Jon's parents' new house and they have a picture of George Washington on the way up the stairs (along with the Constitution and and American pride display). Anyway, he was scared to go up the stairs because of the "scary man" on the wall. I proceeded to tell him that it wasn't a scary man, it was just George Washington, the first President of the United States, which is the country we live in, etc. yadda yadda.

So here was our conversation (out of the blue) in the car today:

Cade: Mom, where's George Washington?
Me: Um...he's dead, buddy. He died a LOOng time ago.
Cade: Why did he die mom?
Me: because everybody dies, buddy. We all grow up, then we start getting really, really old and then we die. After that, we go to heaven to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus and our family forever. Cool, huh? So when we die, we might see George Washington, too. He's in heaven.
Cade: Oh.....................like UP!!! (the disney movie)
Me: That RIGHT! Smart boy!
Cade: So George Washington wont be old anymore?
Me: That's right.
Cade: Cool, mom.

Then, later tonight, Cade was saying goodnight to Jon on the phone (who was traveling). The conversation went like this:

Cade: where are you, Dad?
Jon: I'm on my trip in Washington.
Cade: Oh, Washington? George Washington?

Gotta love it.

The beginning....

We signed Cade up in the Hayden 3 yr old soccer league.

He is loving it, but is still a little timid.

High Fives!!

Cade is at such a fun age, and we are trying to enjoy every minute. A few fun things about him at 3 yrs, 4 mos:

-is a total salesman like his dad. Example:

Cade: Mom, can I have some cheetos please?

me: no, sorry. we're gonna have dinner.

Cade: K, Mom. I'll just have ONE cheeto.

me: no, bud.

Cade: Mom, this is what we're gonna do. I'll just have ONE cheeto while you make dinner, then I'll eat my dinner, k?

These types of things happen quite often, and sometimes I find myself getting sold by him... :)

-LOVES movie time at "quiet time"

-loves turkey, plain

-is still a major organizer

-great helper on his "jobs" around the house

-can get himself dressed and undressed now

-sleeps with his undies for a few months now

-loves dragons and dinosaurs

-loves to be the first to greet JayJay when he wakes up

-likes to growl at and scare random people wherever we are!

He is so fun.

Tribute to the

TOAD BELLY

This little guy has got a gut. And it's so cute.

These pictures hardly do it justice.

He is also trying to talk more and more (or copies tones of phrases), will no longer sit in his high chair (has to sit at the bar with Cade, or in a chair standing up), is becoming a picky eater (loves boiled eggs, turkey, bananas...anything else is a crap shoot), folds his arms for prayers diligently, loves all animals but has no idea how to be gentle, ALWAYS takes of his right shoe and sock in the car, can't WAIT to get his clothes off and get in the bath (and back out, and back in), gives cade hugs right after he hits him to say "sorry", fake laughs, and continues to brighten our lives every day.

Kittens!

We were babysitting this pregnant cat for my brother, Spike's friend for a week. Lo and behold, just as they arrived to pick her up, she layed down on our living room floor and started contracting! A few hours and a lot of fun (and explaining) later, we had 4 kittens!

Our kids' FUN RUN!

I talked to a man in my cycling class last week (he was 66 and looked GREAT), and he informed me that if you exercise for an hour a day, six days a week (we're talking walking... or playing)that you will eliminate 60% of diseases in your lifetime!!! Imagine if we start these habits young and make them fun!! Childhood obesity is at an all-time high. These are reasons why my sister and I started this:
